Kumi-Himo

Kumi Himo is a Japanese braiding technique used to produce both functional and decorative braids. The most common braids use sets of 8, 16 or 32 strands, each strand usually comprising several threads. Jewelry and ties are the most common application for these braids. The tools required are a working stand and weighted bobbins, one bobbin required for each strand. Suggested book: KUMI HIMO, Kliot.
